Bagnols-sur-Cèze and surroundings

Around Languedoc Roussillon, Rhône Alpes and Provence, the town of Bagnols sur Cèze has kept all its charm in the heart of the village with its small cobbled streets as well as the beautiful facades of the princely hotels of the 15th and 17th centuries. The Hôtel de Luynes is also a magnificent private mansion which is located on the Place Mallet; it offers a wonderful view of the square and the surroundings of Bagnols-Sur-Cèze. It belonged to a rich family, named Alberti.

Since the 2nd part of the 20th century, the historic town of Bagnols has been constantly expanding over the surrounding garrigue to make way for new, modern buildings and contemporary housing estates.

At 12 km from Bagnols Sur Cèze, Laudun L'Ardoise is a village which has beautiful treasures from the past, hence its fame. It welcomes the camp of Caesar occupied in the 5th century. 18 hectares await you to enjoy the wonders of the time as ramparts, necropolises, residential areas are still visible as well as the forums. It is a walk to be made since it will make you benefit from beautiful views on the Rhone valley as well as on the Mont Ventoux.

A few meters from the village, you will get acquainted with the "mini Pont du Gard" which is called the Balouvière aqueduct. It is situated in an idyllic setting full of greenery, built on the model of the Pont du Gard in 1870 with the Pont du Gard stone.

Bagnols is finally a city located in a beautiful crossroads of rich heritage.
